Retina Treatment

Retina is the inner and most important layer of the eye. It is a light-sensitive tissue located at the back of the eye that plays a vital role in the process of vision. The retina works much like the film in a camera, capturing the images that enter the eye.

Light passes through the cornea and lens and reaches the retina, where it is converted into electrical signals. These signals are then transmitted to the brain through the optic nerve, allowing us to see and recognize objects clearly.

Any damage to the retina can affect vision significantly. Conditions such as retinal detachment, diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, and retinal tears require early diagnosis and proper treatment to prevent permanent vision loss.

Retina Management

Medical Management

Patients with retinal problems such as retinal tears or early retinal detachment often experience blurred or distorted vision. Early diagnosis is extremely important because timely treatment can prevent permanent vision loss.

Most retinal tears are treated using advanced procedures such as laser photocoagulation or cryotherapy (freezing treatment). These procedures create a protective scar that seals the retina to the back wall of the eye and prevents further detachment.

Surgical Management

Serious retinal diseases such as diabetic retinopathy, hypertensive retinopathy, and other retinal vascular disorders may require advanced treatment. These conditions are often managed with intravitreal Anti-VEGF injections and specialized laser therapy.

In advanced cases, surgical procedures may be required to repair retinal damage and restore vision. Modern retinal surgeries help stabilize the retina and improve long-term visual outcomes.
